I'm Not Fashionable.. Blogtober Day 16

Helene in Between Blogtober

Fall Fashion, eh? Well, I'm not sure if I'm the best person to address this since about 90% of my wardrobe contains clothing of 1 color - black (which technically isn’t a color but the absence of color for all you nerds.)

I'd like to think that if I had unlimited funds I'd be as fashionable as a NYC Fashion Week model but since that isn't the case.. I stick to the staples.

It hasn't been until recently that I started to venture out and wear brighter colors and every time I do I feel like a male peacock spreading my wings trying to attract some bitches while Iggy's ”I'm so Fancy” is playing in my head. But for the most part I wear my signature look which is..

A basic black t-shirt, jeans, flip flops or flats. Sounds boring, right? Well that's because it is. What I've learned to do is add some flare with scarves. Not to toot my own horn but I've been wearing scarves since before they were super popular like they are now, I swear. I saw a Jennifer Aniston magazine cover years ago with her wearing a scarf and I was like:

“Damn.. She is a vampire because she never ages.. I want to be her.. look at her wearing that scarf and being all hot and stuff…”

It was the middle of summer which isn’t typically scarf weather in NEPA but I said screw it, went to the mall and picked up some light airy pieces and I’ve been wearing them ever since.

I buy the loudest and most colorful scarves because I think they can brighten up any outfit and I essentially use them as statement pieces. I love to wear a hot pink scarf with black jeans and a white t-shirt. Or a black or navy sundress with a leopard print scarf.

The possibilities are endless! Make sure to add a few new scarves to your closet this season.
