I’m still very new to blogging (will I ever feel like I don’t need to say that?) so this topic is limited for me since I have limited experience. But I am surprised about the following 3 things I have noticed about blogging:
I never thought blogging:
1 – would connect me to so many people.
Do you remember when AIM was first around and you’d chat with your friends and your parents were in AWE that you were talking to a friend via computer screen with instant messages? Yeah, that’s how I feel about blogging and talking to people from around the world.
I mentioned before that I followed Bloggers for a long time before ever commenting on them and when I finally did I was kind of surprised with the responses I got. Even the”big bloggers” were responding to my little comments and I was surprised everyone was so friendly.
2 – would be THIS difficult.
I knew a lot of work went into this but I didn’t realize HOW much work. Some days I find myself sitting at the computer for an hour just trying to add photos. Or struggling to come up with an ending to a post. I didn’t realize how crucial a basic knowledge of HTML was either. Luckily I know some of the basic steps so I have been able to figure out some things on my own after just a little trial and error.
3 – would actually happen for me.
Back in 2010 I was at an awful job (the one that I quit because of toilet paper, more on that later) and bored. I was stressed about money, life and the future. I stumbled upon the “Blogger” section of my email account one day at work and thought it was interesting. I found and read various blogs including the ever so funny VodkaMom and thought it would be fun if I had a webpage of my own but I never had the balls to publish anything. I have followed blogs since then and started to learn the ins and outs of blogging. Fast forward to 4+ years later.. here I am finally posting.
What surprised you about blogging?
